The Roster Application is built for pilots. The app improves customer (pilot) experience & improves productivity by providing a single view of all roster-related information, relevant documents and pilot’s qualification requirements. Additionally, the app allows the pilot to be productive when mobile without having to access multiple systems. Information on not meeting qualification requirements is not instantly available to the pilots. A pilot's roster is variable to each pilot as it depends on what aircraft they are flying and their hours of flight experience.
With the Roster app, Pilots receive alerts and notifications for updates, changes, reminders and calendar entries. iOS capabilities like iMessage and FaceTime are used to enhance collaboration between pilots. Touch ID for login is used to ensure security and privacy, based on which content will be presented contextually. Analytical capabilities in driving alerts for qualifications, changes to roster and defining required qualifications for a route, makes this app unique.
My role in the 8-week design & development process involved conceptualizing the product strategy, app flow, and content interactions while gathering business requirements directly from pilots (the client). I worked with the business team, clients, UX specialists at Apple, and developers to write and prioritize relevant user stories, create iterative designs to ensure the product is focused on achieving audience demographics, and finally, build the high-fidelity, animated design prototype on keynote. The final prototype illustrates the complete flow of the app, screen by screen, which was the medium of communication to the developers.
