Pay Over the Air (Pay OTA), a final year Engineering Design project aimed to solve the problem of customer-induced time lag introduced by payment systems used in Transit.
Such lag stems from passenger retrieval, storage, and use of the payment method, which requires “tapping” to accommodate. Pay OTA proposes a contactless payment system around RFID and Bluetooth standards, reducing micropayment times. Our team presented a hardware design at a public symposium in April 2014. The poster complimented the hardware design and was designed using Adobe Photoshop.
